Manchester United secured their first win of their pre-season friendly after beating Glasgow Rangers 2-0 on Saturday night, July 20.
Erik ten Hag has mixed in a number of first-team players with some youngsters. With new signing Leni Yoro making his first appearance for the Red Devils since joining a few days ago.
Amad Diallo gave his team the lead in the 39th minute when he cut inside the opponent’s penalty area and fired a left-footed shot into the far corner.
The second half started with Ten Hag making 10 changes, all of whom were young players, leaving only Andre Onana on the bench before the Red Devils added another goal in the 70th minute. When Maxi Oyedele dribbled into the middle before passing through to Joe Hugill who fired a powerful shot into the net.

Leni Yoro makes his debut for the Red Devils
The 18-year-old new defender made his first appearance for United since joining the Red Devils in a deal worth a total of €70 million on July 18.
He looks comfortable when he has the ball, his passing is accurate both short and long, and he has a nice long cross to get forward to his teammates. He is quick and strong in defense, and has the ability to tackle and block opponents’ shots.
Although this was not an official game, just a friendly match, overall he played 45 minutes well.

The 22-year-old Ivory Coast international made his debut in the 2024 pre-season, starting on the right wing and impressing.
He often cuts inside in his usual style. Causing trouble for Rangers’ defenders on several occasions before he scored to give his team a 1-0 lead late in the first half.
“This has to be Amad Diallo’s year. We want to see a different Amad. He’s not an inexperienced player anymore. I trust him,” Ten Hag told MUTV after the game.
Keep a close eye on him this season. He should get more playing time and of course Antony is the one who will be in trouble.
