After Gareth Southgate announced his departure from the position of England national team manager, the Football Association (FA) has recently made an announcement to search for a new manager. The person to be considered must have 7 qualities as specified by the FA. Including being able to handle ‘public pressure’ well. However, it is not specified that the new coach must be ‘English’ only.

Responsibilities:

7 qualifications for applicants: 

1. Must have a ‘UEFA Pro License.

2. Must have high level experience in English football, with a clear work history whether in the Premier League and/or other major leagues worldwide.

3. Must have excellent leadership qualities, understand and enjoy working as a manager of a national football team.

4. Must have knowledge and ability to select, manage and develop England national players.

5. Must have high patience and be able to handle ‘public pressure’ well.

6. Must have a successful track record in team management, able to create a positive team culture and atmosphere.

7. Must be a person with honor and dignity, understand that taking on the job of managing the England senior national team is representing the entire nation.

Despite the world’s best managers being put forward for the job, several sources have confirmed that the FA has already identified a number of managers, with Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino, Eddie Howe, Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel and even Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola all being linked at the moment.
